After wrestling with and finally replacing the dodgy zipper of my 25 year old brand name down jacket, and wrestling with but resisting having to replace the dodgy zipper of my 20 year old brand name Goretex jacket, I cried uncle and went hunting for anoraks. My initial thought was to find one that would serve both purposes - protecting me from cold and from rain. Nothing seemed right, and being in my 50s, snowboarder gear would have made me look (and feel) like an idiot. After hours of hunting, I discovered foehn, a company I had never heard of before. (I have to add that I think I have Facebook analytics to thank for finding it; my memory is that despite using a “no tracking” browser, foehn showed up in my Instagram feed.) In all events, I was smitten with this coat but hesitant about the price. The policy of free, timely unworn returns made it impossible to resist and I’m so glad for that. This coat is indescribably light yet warm. The outer material is incredibly pleasing to touch, with a a suppleness like no other winter jacket I’ve ever owned or wore. It’s got a touch of stretch and a wonderfully useful side vent that makes it so easy to wear. It comes in timeless matte black without any garish logos. And, on top of all of that, the proprietors are friendly and responsiveness. This is the total package in my book.
I bought this hoody to wear around town and for outdoors adventures. It's comfortable and warm, couldn't recommend enough.
