These have become my daily wardrobe pants- I ahev three pr, they take a beating, clean up, super comfortable.
I waited patiently for the restock of these pants in my size and they have not disappointed. The articulation and drape is nothing short of spectacular and the Schoeller Dryskin material is the perfect balance of technical, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. The technical details are top-notch: sleek watertight zippers, a slight elasticity in the waistband and ankles, and mesh “inner” pockets. The fit is a pretty modest taper, not too aggressive in the seat/crotch, thighs, or knees but slims out nicely below the knee. The zipper along the ankle cuffs is perfect for attenuating the the fit based on personal preference or to accommodate slimmer or bulkier shoe silhouettes. The overall stretch of the fabric prevents the pants from dragging in any particular area and is extremely forgiving when seated and/or moving. For reference, I am roughly 6’ tall with a slim build and typically wear a 32” waist/31” length. The pants are expectedly on the longer end for my preference but the material stacks so nicely that it hasn’t been a real bother. The waistband has enough give that I likely could’ve sized down to a 30” waist without issue, but the 32” with some stretch is more than adequate and the pants have loops to accommodate a belt, if needed. In an effort for a nonpartisan review, a few very minor suggestions I might offer if the model were ever to be revised: - A more modern closure system at the waist. In contrast to the watertight zippers, the “standard” threaded plastic button feels somewhat out of place. Whether it be a metal button or a more technical closure altogether, I think it would be a welcome adjustment. - An option without the zippered thigh pocket. Not personally one to use such a pocket and, while it’s by no means a dealbreaker, it does give the pants an overtly technical look (for better or worse) that I think it could still achieve in function without the pocket, while gaining the added utility of being worn in a wider range of settings. - Additional length options. I am fortunate to fall within the ballpark range of the standard 32” length, but having an option for a 30/31” to fine-tune the fit for myself or options for shorter/taller folks would certainly be well-received.
A part of me doesn’t want to give this review since it’s already somewhat difficult to find these pants and popularity oftentimes results in diminished quality but these are by far my favorite pants.
I've been using the pants for a few months now and love them. The fit is perfect for me. I don't really like low rise pants so the rise on these is perfect. The fabric was a little more technical looking than I expected but the comfort and performance so far are excellent. I have shorter legs so I appreciate the different inseam options. Bought these pants for travel and am taking them to Asia for a month and if all goes well I'll definitley consider getting another pair in the future.
